myPueo - User Information

Tutorial Description: Welcome to myPueo, Mid-Pacific's School Information System (SIS) that includes a Learning Management System (LMS) and portal to see grades & assignments. In this tutorial, you will view your Profile, locate files and forms, and set up (or modify) your myPueo notifications (announcements, news, assignments, etc.) for email and/or text.

Profile

PROFILE:  You can see your contact card and review the information the school has on record for you.

  1. Click on your name in the upper right corner, and select Profile.
  1. Review this Contact Card and ensure your contact information is up-to-date.

If there are any changes, please use the "Contact Us" Resource Board and the form "Profile Update Form."

Files and Forms

If you have any required school forms that need to be filled out, you will see a yellow banner across the top of your screen each time you login until you complete the form.  Click on the blue text link to navigate to the form and complete it.

  1. To view your completed or pending forms, click on your name in the upper right corner and select Files & Forms.
  1. A listing of all uncompleted forms is displayed.  To see the completed forms, click on the checkbox Show completed forms.

Notifications

NOTIFICATIONS:  Parents and students can set up alerts via email and/or text message when new information (announcement, news, messages) is posted. Parents can turn on notifications for their own activities and also their child(ren)'s activities.  Students can turn on notifications for their own activities.

Check your notification settings annually!  You can change your notification settings at anytime.

  1. Click on your name in the upper right hand corner, and select Settings.
  1. On the left under Account Settings, click on Notifications.
  1. You can choose to add your telephone number to receive text messages.  It is not required and is your personal choice.  Click the + to add your phone number.  Standard text message fees apply.
  1. On the row for Messages, check the box under Email.
  1. On the row Announcement Posted, click on Setup Options.
  1. Notification Options window will appear.  Suggested selections:
  • My Groups:  
    • Academics: Classes you teach
    • Activity:  Clubs/groups you belong to - like CyberPatriot, MS Yearbook
    • Advisory:  Grade level advisory
    • Alumni (if applicable)
    • Athletics (if applicable - if you are coaching a sport)
    • Community:  (Nā ʻOhana Pueo).
  • (Parents) My Child's Groups:  
    • Academics:  classes your child(ren) are enrolled in
    • Activity: clubs/groups your child(ren) participate in
    • Advisory:  Grade level advisory "Class of 2020"
    • Athletics (if applicable - if your child is in a sport)
  1. Click Save when done.
  1. Notice that in the row Announcements Posted, it now says Edit Options.  Check the box under Email.
  1. Repeat the process for News Posted.  In the row News Posted, click on Setup Options.  
  1. A new window - Notification Options - will appear.  Required selections:
  • My Groups:  
    • Academics: Classes you teach
    • Activity:  Clubs/groups you belong to - like CyberPatriot, MS Yearbook
    • Advisory:  Grade level advisory
    • Alumni (if applicable)
    • Athletics (if applicable - if you are coaching a sport)
    • Community:  (Nā ʻOhana Pueo).
  • (Parents) My Child's Groups:  
    • Academics:  classes your child(ren) are enrolled in
    • Activity: clubs/groups your child(ren) participate in
    • Advisory:  Grade level advisory
    • Athletics (if applicable - if you are coaching a sport)

11.  Click Save when done.

  1. Notice that in the row News Posted, it now says Edit Options.  Check the box under Email.

Your Notification Settings should look similar to the image below.

MESSAGES:  Internal direct messaging

Internal messaging should be used only for one-to-one communication. Messages cannot be forwarded to other Mid-Pacific constituents.  

All messages are saved in the system, there is no way to delete any message once sent.

Please note:  Elementary and Middle School students' email accounts cannot send nor receive email outside the Mid-Pacific domain (faculty/staff/students).  Using myPueo Messages allows parents to message/email their student during the school day.

  1. Click Messages along the top menu bar to access myPueo Messages.

You will see a red "badge" when you have a new message.  Depending on how you have your notifications set up you may get an email or text message alerting you to the new message.

  1. In Messages, you will see a list of previous messages.
  2. Click on Compose message to send a new message
  1. Type in the recipient's name (not email address).  
  2. To allow recipients to Reply All, click on the box.  If left unchecked, recipients can only reply to sender.
  3. Enter a subject.
  4. Type in the message.
  5. Click Send Message.
  1. To respond to a previous message, click on the message title in the Message list.
  1. The Messages window opens.
  2. Type in your message.
  3. Click Reply or Reply to All.

You can also message using one of the many links on pages throughout the system.  

  1. Click on the box Message to open a new message. In the example below, we are messaging Mr. Jinbo from the Progress tab listing enrolled classes.
  1. Check the name to make sure you are messaging the right person
  2. Type in your message.
  3. Click Send Message.
