HS - Course Requests (Incoming Grades 9-12)

Tutorial Description:  This tutorial is for students and parents to assist with requesting courses for the upcoming school year.  A Google Form (Program Selection) will be completed prior to the opening of course requests. This form will identify for the school which students are planning to participate in MPX, MPSA Certificate or Traditional classes.  Depending on which program is selected, the school will preload course requests associated with the program selected from the Google Form (Program Selection).

If you want to change what was entered into the Program Selection Google Form, contact your dean ASAP. Parents should have gotten an email notifying them if their child filled out the Program Selection Google Form.  Inquire with the dean if you have questions.

1. Log into myPueo (Student account)

Must log in as a student, can't access from parent account viewing student's account

2. Accessing Course Requests

  1. When Course Requests is turned on,  you will find it by clicking on the My Day drop down
  2. Click Course Requests

3. Course Requests page

Some pre-loaded classes are locked in and can't be deleted.   Contact your dean if you wish to make changes to any of the locked classes.

  1. Read the instructions carefully.
  2. Data collected from the Program Selection Google Form was used to preload course requests.  A year long class fills a slot in both semesters. 1st Semester + 2nd Semester + Any term requests must equal 14.

Course categories are identical to the course catalog.  Click on the link to the left under Available Courses to see the course description.  Classes taken this year will show as completed.  Classes taken prior to SY 19-20 will not show as completed.

Disregard the Requests per term number.

HS ONLY: Math will show as a placeholder.  Courses will be based off of recommendations by the Math Department and will be release closer to the end of the current school year.  If you have questions, check with your current math teacher or dean.

4. Available Courses

  1. Expand your category by clicking/tapping on the arrow next to the category name.
  2. Click the request button.

This adds the course to your Selected Requests section .  Double check to see if your class shows up in the Selected Requests window and double check the numbers of 1st Semester +  2nd Semester + Any term requested.

Go back and repeat to finish your course requests.

  1. HS ONLY: If your choice is a semester long course, you must select a term (1st, 2nd or any term).   Choosing any term gives greater opportunity to get the class you requested.  The system will schedule you in either the 1st or 2nd semester.
  1. Check the Selected requests window to see if your requested classes show.

Repeat this process until your 1st Semester + 2nd Semester + Any term requests = 14.

5. Alternate Choices for Electives

If you don't choose alternates then the school will choose them for you.

  1. If you know the name of the class, click the + alternate button and start typing the course name in the field -  the system will auto fill classes so please choose correctly.
  2. OR, click the arrow next to the Request button to access a drop down menu to choose alternates.  Choose at least two or three alternates per elective class.

Repeat for all electives.

6. Prioritize your Classes

Once you have chosen your class you can prioritize your electives.

  1. Click/Tap the arrow to move alternates up and down to prioritize according to your preference.
  2. Click/Tap the trash can to remove a class or to remove all alternates for that class.

You can prioritize your classes by dragging and dropping the entire blue box under Selected requests.

7. Finishing your Course Request Process

  1. If your 1st Semester + 2nd Semester + Any term requests = 14  AND you have alternates for your electives, Click/Tap Save and you're finished.

If your total doesn't = 14, when you Click/Tap save you will receive an error message.  Go back and adjust your course requests until you are able to save successfully.

There is no submit button, only SAVE.  Once you've clicked save, you can exit the screen.
