Elementary End of Year Portfolio - Archiving Student Showbie Artifacts to Google Drive
Tutorial description: This guide will walk you through the steps of archiving the student Showbie portfolio to Google Drive. All Showbie portfolio artifacts must be uploaded to Google Drive at the end of the school year. If the Showbie portfolio is not archived in Google Drive, portfolio artifacts could be lost.

1. Creating Google Drive Folders
- Make sure the correct folder is selected to add additional folders within.
- To create a new folder, tap the Plus Sign on the bottom right.
- Tap on Folder.
- Type in the name of the folder.
- Tap create.
- You will then see your newly created folder.
2. Creating Google Drive Portfolio Structure
- Tap on the Google Drive App.
Each student should have the Google Drive folder structure below.
- The main folder that will store all portfolio content should be listed with the student's first and last name, ending with portfolio. Example: John Smith's Portfolio.
- Go within the main student folder.
- Create a folder for each school year with portfolio artifacts needed to upload.
- Click on the desired school year folder to upload artifacts.
- Create a folder for Semester 1 and Semester 2.
3. Exporting Showbie Artifacts
There are two ways to export artifacts from Showbie.
- Take a screenshot of an artifact.
- Save Image/Video of the artifact.
Uploading artifacts directly to Google Drive is an additional option but the user may need to adjust their settings.
Only upload what you would like to be archived into the portfolio.
Comments cannot be exported, only files (uploaded pictures, documents, etc.)
Take a Screenshot of an Artifact
- Take a screenshot on the iPad by pressing the power button and front screen button simultaneously.
Save Image/Video of the Artifact
- Tap and hold on the image or video in the student portfolio.
- A pop-up will appear.
- Tap on Share.
- An additional pop-up will appear. Tap Share.
- Tap Save Image. Image will then be saved in the Photo Library.
4. Upload Artifacts to Google Drive
- Go to Google Drive.
- Select the correct Portfolio folder.
- Select the current school year.
- Select Semester 1 or Semester 2.
- When in the correct semester, tap on the plus sign.
- Tap Upload.
- Tap on Photo and Videos at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap on the album where you wish to select your photo or video.
- Tap on the desired photo or video.
- Tap Upload.
You may select multiple photos and videos to upload at the same time.
- Your photo or video will appear loaded in the selected folder.
