Reset Canvas Password
Tutorial Description: In this tutorial, non-Mid-Pacific students and all parents will learn how to change your password from the Canvas login screen on a computer via a browser.
Navigate to https://canvas.midpac.edu (bookmark this page for future reference).
- Non-Mid-Pacific students and all parents, click on the Orange button to Sign in to Canvas.
Mid-Pacific students and faculty will use the Green button, which utilizes the schools email address/password to single sign on (SSO), automatically signing them into Canvas.
- Click on Forgot Password?
- Enter your Canvas Username (Login ID)
- Click Reset Password.
Non-Mid-Pacific student username is their FirstNameLastName (no spaces).
All parents, non and Mid-Pacific parents, username is the email address used when registering.
An email will be sent to the email address you, as the parent, used to register for your child's class and/or the email listed for the student when registering.
The request password link should arrive in your email inbox within 20 minutes and that link is active for 2 hours. If you don't see the email, check your spam/junk folder to see if it went there.
Ensure you put in the same email address used to register for the class.
Check your Spam/Junk folders
- Check your email for a message "Forgot Password: Canvas".
- Click on the link - "Click here to set a new password".
If you do not get a confirmation message (like the one below), please contact [email protected]. There is an issue with your email address being correct in the system.
- Enter your new password, then click on Update Password.
Password guidelines:
- Use at least eight characters (the more the better), but most people will find anything more than about 15 characters difficult to remember.
- Use a random mixture of characters, upper and lower case, numbers, punctuation, spaces and symbols.
- Don't use a word found in a dictionary, English or foreign.
- Return to Canvas - https://canvas.midpac.edu, click the Orange button and enter your username and newly created password to log into the system.
