How to Apply to Mid-Pacific Institute as an International Student (Elementary)

1. STEP 1: Choose admissions checklist

Please note that Mid-Pacific Institute usually does not provide the F-1 student visa or English language support or Homestay for international students below Grade 7. Any international student below Grade 7 should apply through the regular application and provide proper documentation of U.S. citizenship, permanent residency, or other visa.

A student is considered International at Mid-Pacific unless he/she falls under both of the categories below. Documentation of U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident of U.S. must be verified.

  1. The student is a U.S. Citizen or a Permanent Resident of the U.S. AND
  2. At least one Parent is a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident of the U.S.

2. STEP 2: Create an account on Ravenna

Go to www.ravenna-hub.com to create an account on Ravenna. Keep your username and password to login.

Please complete this section for your student. Basic information, such as name and birthdate, is required and will later be accessible by schools to which you inquire and/or apply. You may add additional information, such as your student’s preferred name and a photo, if you would like to share that with schools. You can edit this section at any time. If you have more than one student looking at or applying to schools this year, you will have the opportunity to add his/her information in a future step.

3. STEP 3: Choose Mid-Pacific Institute

Choose Mid-Pacific Institute from the list of schools in Hawaii.

4. STEP 4: Apply to Mid-Pacific Institute

Type of application

  • For Preschool 3 year old (PK3) or Preschool 4 year old (PK4), choose Pre-school application process.
  • For Kindergarten (K), choose Kindergarten application process.
  • For Grade 1-5, choose Lower school application process.

5. STEP 5: Complete Preliminary Application Steps by December 1 (Preschool, Kindergarten) or January 15 (Grade 1-5)

Application and Application Fee

Please click on the link below to fill out the application form. Once you have completed all required questions in the form you will return to this page and the "Go to Pay & Submit" button to the above right will turn green. Once you click on that button your Application will be submitted and you will be prompted to pay the application fee of $125 (non-refundable). 

If you have completed the application form and the "Go to Pay & Submit" button does not turn green please re-open the form and click on "Highlight Missing Questions" at the top left of the form. Scroll through the form to see if any questions are highlighted. If not, please contact Ravenna Solutions directly at [email protected].

Mid-Pacific will receive the data exactly as entered, so please make sure that you enter the information accurately in terms of spelling and punctuation. If you are unable to complete the application in one sitting, you may select Save and Close so that you may return to your application later. Once the application is submitted, you will receive an email confirmation that it was successfully processed.

6. STEP 6: Complete Additional Steps by January 31

Parent Summary

We want to get to know you, your family and your child better. Please take some time to thoughtfully answer the questions in the form below. You can re-visit the form and continue to make changes to your answers until you finally submit it. After the form is submitted, no changes may be made. This form will be due by January 31. 

The strength of Mid-Pacific education is based, in part, on an open and trusting partnership between the School and Parents. For this reason, we are asking you to submit this confidential Parent Questionnaire which will provide the Admissions Committee with valuable insight about your family.  This is another important piece to your childʻs unique picture.  Our school will do our best to support your child in a way that is consistent with our mission and academic programs. 

Teacher Reference Report (Lower School)

After December 1st, click on the link below and input your child's current teacher's name and email address. The teacher will receive an email with a link to a secure Teacher Evaluation form. Once the teacher fills out the form they will submit it directly to our school. After we have received the form from the teacher we will mark the step to the right as complete. Please allow us time for processing.

Submit all forms by January 31, but no earlier than December1.

By emailing or delegating this recommendation form to your child's teacher, you waive any right to access this recommendation and authorize the teacher to provide an evaluation and all relevant information to the school for purposes of your child’s application to the school. By submitting this evaluation form and your application for consideration by the member of the Hawai`i Association of Independent Schools (HAIS), you hereby release the HAIS school, its employees and representatives, the evaluator and the evaluator’s employer from any and all claims and liability that may arise from information provided. All information provided on the attached evaluation form will be held in strictest confidence and will not be shared with students, parents, or guardians. This evaluation will remain confidential and does not become part of the student’s permanent academic record.

Group Assessment (held on Saturdays)

Group and/or individual assessments are required for elementary applicants. Assessments are scheduled on Saturdays during the months of January through April. Individual assessments with off-island applicants will be arranged individually. After you submit your application, Play Session (PS3/4), Assessment (K-5) date and time will be available either through assignment or by self-registration . Once scheduled, you will be notified through email with more detailed information about your visit. You can also refer to your scheduled play session, assessment or interview on the Events tab in your account.

Prior Year Report Card

Please submit the final report card from your child's previous academic year. Use the upload button below to submit records. Please attach one PDF file (file may include multiple pages) per button.

Current Year Report Card

Please submit first semester or first trimester report card.  You may submit Quarter 1 and Quarter 2 report cards if semester report cards are not available. Use the upload buttons below to submit records. Please attach one PDF file (multiple pages) per button.

School Tour (highly recommended)

After completing your application form and fee, please feel free to sign up for a School Tour by clicking on the link below. This is for the parent / guardian as well as the applicant student. During this time the parent / guardian will be able to meet with admission office staff and the student will be able to visit a class in session. Exact activities will depend on your student's grade level. More information will be emailed to you after registration.

Please click on the link below for current monthʻs tour dates. The following monthʻs dates will be available on the 15th of the previous month. (October tour dates will be available on September 15).  

7. (Only for U.S. citizens) Financial Aid Information

Our school uses SSS by NAIS program for financial aid applications. Please visit this website after October 2nd in order to begin the process: www.sss.nais.org.
