Connecting to BYOD Wi-Fi on a Windows Laptop

If you are experiencing issues connecting to the BYOD Wi-FI on campus, and you are on a Windows laptop, the following steps will help you manually set up a network connection to connect.

If you were previously connected to BYOD on your Windows Laptop, follow these steps

If you have previously connected to the Mid-Pacific_BYOD Wi-Fi before, you must first "forget" the network from your system.

1. Click on Start, and go to "Settings".

2. Click on "Network & Internet".

3. Click on "Wi-Fi".

4. Click on "Manage Known Networks".

5.  Select the "Mid-Pacific BYOD" network, and click "Forget".

Continue to the next step below to re-connect to BYOD.

If this is your first time connecting to BYOD Wi-Fi, follow these steps

To add the Mid-Pacific_BYOD network to your computer, follow the following steps.

1. Click on Start, and go to "Settings".

2. Click on "Network & Internet".

3. Click on the "Network and Sharing Center".

4. Click on "Set up a new connection or network".

5. Click on "Manually connect to a wireless network".

6. A) Under the Network name, type: "Mid-Pacific_BYOD".

   B) For the Security Type, select "WPA2-Enterprise".

   C) Then click "Next".

7. Click "Change connection settings".

8.  Click on the "Security" Tab.

9. Click on "Settings".

10.   Uncheck the box next to "Verify the server's identity by validating the certificate".  Then click OK.

11. Click on  "Advanced Settings".

12. A) Check the box next to "Specify authentication mode".

    B) Select "User authentication".

    C) Click "Save credentials".

13. Type in your AD username and password.

14. Click OK and OK until you are back to your desktop.

15. You should now be able to choose Mid-Pacific_BYOD on your Wi-Fi list and click "Connect".
